No one could ever really say that I had a hard life. At the age of four, I ran away for the first time, and learned that there was a bigger world around my small speck on the earth. At the age of six, I learned what it was to see for the first time. At the age of nine, I learned what war was. And at the age of twelve, I learned how to love someone that was not my parents.

I grew up without ever knowing real fear, not knowing what it was to hurt, or to lose someone close to me. But all of that changed when I turned sixteen. That bigger world around my small speck on the earth had turned into an enemy I was, for the first time in my life, completely unprepared to face. Everything is wrong.
